I’ve written about General Peter Pace here, first Marine Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Apparently, after retiring on 1 October, he went to the Vietnam Memorial Wall and placed cards with notes to the Marines that died under his command in Vietnam. This is one of them dedicated to the first Marine he lost: Lance Cpl. Guido Farinaro of Bethpage, N.Y., a 19 year-old corporal.
